  • What about quality? Quality and service is what sets Murdec apart from our competition. We never cut corners on preperation or materials. We take the time to properly assess the project before giving a quote and we take into account everything that should be done to ensure the result is top quality.
  • What is your experience? We have been trading since 1975.
  • That’s ok, but how much experience have your staff got? Some of our staff have been working with us since 1983.
  • Where can I see some of your previous work? We can show you our portfolio, click here to see it now.
  • Ok then, what products do you use? We use only the highest grade products as this allows us to stand over our work, giving both our customer and ourselves peace of mind. Fleetwood, Colourtrend, Farrow & Ball, Crown and Sikkens are our preferred products. Many painting contractors in the painting business today use inferior products as it increases their slim product margin, this we never do.
  • Will you know my homes painting needs? Yes. Your home is made up of many different types of materials and a good painting contractor will know what to use, and more importantly, what NOT to use. Preparation is the most crucial aspect of any project and you can rest assured your home will be prepared properly.
  • Are you insured? Yes, we are fully insured.
  • If so can you produce your insurance details please? Make sure you inform your insurance company of any works being carried out on your home and fax in the contractors insurance policy. This gives peace of mind that in the unlikely event of an accident, you will be covered. Failing to do this could mean you have to pay for their mistake.
  • Do you have a safe work record? At Murdec we have an excellent safe work record.
  • Are you registered with any Guild or Body? We are registered with a the National Guild of Master Craftsmen.
  • Can you provide me with a list of references? We would be happy to provide our customers with contact details of our previous clients. If your contractor cannot provide you with this, walk away.
  • What hours do you work? We normally work from 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday. We can work weekends and evenings on request.
  • Do you put everything in a written quotation? Absolutely, our quotations are transparent. There is nothing to hide and you can see exactly what the cost and value for money.
  • How do you calculate your quotation? At Murdec, our quotations are based upon an initial site visit, an assessment of our potential clients needs, the materials they request, access to height in a safe manner and length of time the job will take to complete to the required standard.
  • If we agree on a date, will you come to us and complete the project within the agreed timeframe? We endeavour to have all projects completed on time however this is weather dependent.
  • Do you provide a handover folder? We always do, we believe that quality service requires this level of attention to detail.
